How to install your eSIM
Last updated: 17 August 2026
You will get an email with a QR code as soon as your order is confirmed. Installing takes a couple of minutes.
Do this before you fly
Install while you still have wifi or mobile data at home. Installing an eSIM downloads it over the internet — so if you wait until you have landed in Saudi Arabia with no connection, you cannot get online to get online. This is the single most common problem, and it is entirely avoidable.
Installing is not the same as switching it on. Your plan does not start counting down when you install it — it starts when it first connects to a network in Saudi Arabia. So there is no cost to doing this early.
Before you start, check your phone can use an eSIM at all: will my phone work?
Installing on iPhone
- Open the email we sent you on a computer or another device, so the QR code is on a screen you can point your phone at.
- On your iPhone, go to Settings → Mobile Service (older versions: Mobile Data).
- Tap Add eSIM, then Use QR Code.
- Point the camera at the QR code.
- Give the plan a label you will recognise, such as “Hajj” or “Labbaik eSIM”.
- Choose your usual SIM as the default line for calls and texts, and leave mobile data set to your home SIM for now.
Installing on Android
Menu names vary between manufacturers, but the sequence is the same.
- Open the email with the QR code on another screen.
- Go to Settings → Network & internet → SIMs. On Samsung, go to Settings → Connections → SIM manager.
- Tap Add eSIM, Download a SIM instead, or Add mobile plan.
- Scan the QR code.
- Confirm, and give the plan a name you will recognise.
If the QR code will not scan
This happens — cracked screens, older cameras, printed copies. Try turning your screen brightness right up first, on whichever device is showing the code — a dim or glare-affected screen is the most common reason a scan fails, and this fixes it more often than anything else here.
Still not scanning? Every eSIM can be installed by typing its details in instead, and the email contains everything you need.
Look for the activation code (sometimes called an SM-DP+ address and activation token) printed under the QR code in your email. Then:
- iPhone: at the QR scanning screen, tap Enter Details Manually.
- Android: at the scanning screen, look for Enter it manually or Need help?
Copy the code exactly, including any dollar signs and full stops. It is long, so paste it if you can rather than typing it out.
When you land in Saudi Arabia
- Go to your phone’s mobile or SIM settings.
- Turn on the Labbaik eSIM line, and turn mobile data over to it.
- Turn off data roaming on your home SIM. This is what stops your usual network charging you roaming fees alongside our plan.
- Leave your home SIM switched on for calls and texts if you want to keep your number reachable.
It can take a minute or two to find a network after landing. If nothing appears, switch flight mode on and off once.
If something is not working
- No signal after landing: check the plan is switched on, data roaming is enabled for our line, and flight mode is off. Restart the phone if needed.
- Connected but no internet: check mobile data is set to our line and not your home SIM.
- Deleted the eSIM by mistake: contact us. An eSIM can normally only be installed once, so do not delete it while travelling.
Email support@labbaikesim.com and tell us your phone model and what you are seeing on screen — that is usually enough for us to solve it in one reply.
