Will I lose my phone number?

No. Our eSIM is an additional line on your phone, sitting alongside your normal SIM. Your usual number stays active and stays yours. You choose which line handles data, and you can keep receiving calls and texts on your home number while using our data.

Can my family at home still reach me?

Yes, as long as you leave your home SIM switched on. Calls and texts to your usual number arrive normally. Bear in mind your own network may charge you to receive calls abroad — that is between you and them — which is why most people rely on WhatsApp while travelling.

Will WhatsApp work?

Yes, and it will keep your existing WhatsApp account and number. WhatsApp runs over the internet, so it uses our data without needing a Saudi phone number. The same goes for video calls, Messenger, Telegram, Imo and the rest.

Do I get a Saudi phone number?

No. Our plans are data only — no number, no traditional calls or texts. For almost everyone this is what they actually want: internet for maps, WhatsApp and staying in touch, at a fraction of roaming prices. If you specifically need a Saudi number for a local service, you would need a local SIM as well.

When does my plan start counting down?

When your eSIM first connects to a network in Saudi Arabia — not when you buy it, and not when you install it. Install it at home days before you fly; the clock does not start until you arrive.

What happens when my data runs out?

On a fixed plan, the data stops when the allowance or the validity period runs out, whichever comes first. Nothing is charged automatically — you simply buy another plan if you need more.

On an unlimited plan, you get a set amount each day at full speed. Once you have used that day’s allowance you keep going at a reduced speed of around 1Mbps for the rest of the day, and full speed returns the next morning. You are never cut off and never charged extra. A reduced speed is fine for messaging, maps and browsing, but not for high-quality video.

Which should I choose, fixed or unlimited?

If you mainly use WhatsApp, maps and the occasional photo upload, a fixed plan is usually cheaper — most Umrah travellers do not get through 5GB in a fortnight. If you video-call family daily or share a lot of photos and video, the unlimited plans stop you having to think about it.

Will it work in Makkah and Madinah?

Yes — our plans run on the Saudi networks, so coverage is the same as theirs. Be realistic about Hajj and peak Umrah though: with millions of people in a small area, every network around the Haramain slows down at prayer times. That affects everyone, local SIMs included, and no provider can promise otherwise.

Can my whole family share one eSIM?

No — one eSIM per phone. An eSIM profile can normally only be installed once, so a family sharing a single QR code would find the first person to scan it has used it up. Buy one per traveller using the quantity selector at checkout, and each person gets their own code.

Can I use it as a hotspot?

Yes, tethering works normally, and it is a sensible way to get an older phone online. Remember it draws from the same allowance — on an unlimited plan, a tethered device will reach the daily full-speed limit much faster.

What if my phone cannot use an eSIM?

Check before you buy — see will my phone work? — and if you have already bought one, we refund any eSIM you have not installed. See our refund policy.

How do I install it?

Scan the QR code we email you. The whole process is on the installation guide, including what to do if the code will not scan. Install before you fly, while you still have wifi.
